If you’ve been a victim of identity fraud, or believe you’re at risk of becoming one, you can request a ban on your credit report.
Once a ban is in place, it means that the Credit Reporting Agencies (CRAs) cannot disclose any personal information from your credit report to any credit providers, unless you provide written consent for them to do so, or if they are required by law.
If you’d like to set up a ban on your credit report with the CRA’s, you should contact Experian here.
If you’d like more information on credit report bans, check out IDCARE’s Fact Sheet or call them on 1300 432 273.
